OxjamBrum Takeover 2010
TweetThank you to everyone who has already supported OxjamBrum this year. Our Takeover Festival 2010 is on Saturday 16th October. This is the big one folks!
12 hours of musical delights from 40 of Birmingham’s best unsigned bands. For just £6 advance you can purchase a wristband which will give you access to every venue all within easy walking distance of each other. So why not bar-hop whilst raising money to help those living in poverty across the world.
All six of our venues now have tickets on sale with no booking fee. Or book online at www.oxjambrum.org.uk or www.wegottickets.com/event/92563. Advance tickets will be on sale until midnight Friday 15th October.
There will be tickets available on the door on Saturday.

| As well as playing host to some live pop and funk The Yardbird will be our wristband exchange for the day. Please bring your reference number or ticket to this venue first. We’ll have all the crucial stage times for you so you can plan your route around the venues. Wristbands need to be collected before 9pm.

The Flapper, Birmingham’s home of live and loud music, will be headlined by Isolated Atoms and also feature Malpas fresh from their Moseley Folk appearance earlier this year. INKwell will be live screen printing t-shirts (or any other suitable item you want to bring along) upstairs.

| And finally we enlisted our friends from This is Tomorrow to curate the line-up at 6 Music’s favourite Birmingham pub, The Victoria. Including Speech Fewapy favourite Tom Peel, a rare performance from Sunset Cinema Club and current Brummie darlings Tantrums.
The Victoria – Doors 4:30pm |
The Island’s Tiki Bar should please those in need of a cocktail or some electro and indie pop. James Rea, fresh and hopefully recovered from the 11 bus, will be opening proceedings and (Silver) Souvenirs will be headlining. GotSeeN.com will be streaming this stage live to people across the world.

Last week’s Brumcast (04-10-2010) on Rhubarb Radio was an OxjamBrum special featuring some of the artists that are playing this years Takeover. Listen again to the podcast, it’s a great way to get to know some of the bands.

This year OxjamBrum is proud to be sponsored by GotSeeN.com – a Birmingham based website which champions new and unsigned bands as well as streaming live gigs through their dedicated GotSeeN TV. GotSeeN.com will be streaming the Oxjam Takeover live from Island Bar meaning people across the world will be able to see why Birmingham has more to offer than Spaghetti Junction and Jasper Carrott.
